Cloudbet and Stake both put a casino and a sportsbook in one crypto account, so they often end up on the same shortlist. I tested both the same way: I deposited $100 in BTC, played at small stakes and withdrew in BTC. Both withdrawals arrived within the casino’s stated timeframe (Stake confirmed 15 Oct 2026, Cloudbet 16 Oct 2026).
Stake scores 7.2/10 and Cloudbet 6.8/10 under our How We Rate method. Payouts came out level, so the gap comes from somewhere else: licence status and games. Cloudbet wins back some ground on bonus terms and KYC. Every figure below is from my Stake review and Cloudbet review.

The licence question decides most of the gap
Licence and safety carries 20% of the score, and it’s the biggest difference here: 7.5 for Stake against 6.0 for Cloudbet. Cloudbet names its operator and its CGA licence OGL/2024/328/0599 is still listed active, but the register shows the term ended on 23 May 2026 and is marked “assessment in progress”. Our method caps licence and safety at 6 until a renewal is confirmed, so Cloudbet can’t score higher there yet.
Stake isn’t spotless either. Its CGA certificate reads Active, but the register also lists a renewal assessment in progress (checked 14 Oct 2026). What lifts Stake is its named operator plus an independent dispute route through CADRE, a CGA-certified ADR body (terms 23.3). I’ll re-check both registers on the next re-test, and either score can move.
Payouts: level at 7.0, different fine print
Both test withdrawals were paid, and both scored 7.0. The terms behind that score differ. Stake needs each deposit wagered 1x before you can withdraw (8.5, 8.10), and clause 8.2 lets it hold a withdrawal during an investigation without explaining why. Cloudbet has no overall cap once you’re verified, but its terms reserve the right to charge up to 5% on deposits and withdrawals, and unverified accounts face a daily withdrawal limit. Check the cashier fee before you withdraw.
Rewards: Cloudbet’s no-rollover model edges it
Neither site runs a classic fixed welcome match. Cloudbet runs rakeback and rewards, and its own site says there are no rollovers on rewards. I found no discretionary-void clause in what I read, so it scored 7.5. Stake scored 7.0: rules are set per promotion (12.3), unclaimed bonuses lapse after the claim period or 60 days, whichever is shorter (12.10), and Stake can cancel any bonus at its sole discretion (12.11). Bonuses never change the house edge, so treat either as a small rebate, not a reason to play more.
KYC: Cloudbet tells you the trigger up front
This is the part I’d want to know before depositing. Cloudbet publishes a clear ID-check trigger: once your cumulative deposits reach USD 2,200, verification is required (18.1.5). It can still ask for documents at any time, can lock funds pending checks, and can close an account if KYC isn’t completed in the time given (11.1(v)). That scored 6.5. Stake’s terms let it ask for KYC at any time and hold withdrawals until you’re verified (4.8, 8.1, 8.12), with no published threshold, so it scored 6.0. I compare these rules across every tested casino in crypto casino KYC rules compared.
Games and sportsbook
Stake’s large provably fair originals range plus its casino lobby and sportsbook earned 8.5. Cloudbet has casino, live dealer, provably fair games and a sportsbook, but I haven’t documented its lobby size yet, so it sits on a provisional 7.0. Both are in my best crypto casinos with a sportsbook list.
Where you can play
Both have long restricted lists. Stake’s (14.3) includes the UK, US, Australia, France, Spain and Ontario. Cloudbet’s (7.1.3) lists countries you must not be physically in when playing or withdrawing, including the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. Never use a VPN to get around either list: it breaks the terms and can cost you your balance.
Which one should you pick?
Stake makes more sense if:
- you want the stronger licence and safety score and an independent dispute route
- you play a lot of originals
- you want no cashier fee clause to worry about
Cloudbet makes more sense if:
- you want rewards with no rollover
- you’d rather know the exact deposit level that triggers ID checks
- you’re comfortable waiting for its licence renewal to be confirmed
My verdict
Stake wins 7.2 to 6.8. Nearly all of that comes from Cloudbet’s capped licence score and Stake’s bigger games range. Cloudbet has the clearer KYC rule and the cleaner rewards, and if its licence renewal is confirmed, the gap should narrow. For now Stake is my pick of the two, and Cloudbet is a reasonable second if its fee and licence caveats don’t bother you.
